Your choice. Your pace.

Two Paths. One Studio.

Dance for Joy

Some kids just want to move. To make friends, build confidence, and have somewhere they belong every week. That's completely enough. Our recreational classes are built around enjoyment — no pressure, just great training in a warm environment.

  • Ages 18 months through to 18 years
  • Flexible timetable, term-based enrolment
  • End-of-year concert performances
  • No prior experience needed

Train for a Career

Pro Track

SDS alumni have gone to Joffrey Ballet in NYC, performed at Disneyland, and trained by dancers who have worked with Britney Spears. Growing up in regional NSW doesn't have to mean missing out — Shannon built this studio so that dancers here get the same doors that city students do.

  • Eisteddfod competitions and ballet exams
  • International guest teacher workshops
  • Pathway to industry qualifications
  • Connections to working industry professionals

Who we are

Griffith's Best-Kept
Open Secret.

Shannon Hart started SDS Griffith in 2014 with 23 students and a very clear idea: that kids growing up in regional NSW deserve the same quality of training as dancers in Sydney or Melbourne. Within a year, the studio had grown to over 150 students.

Shannon trained at Brent Street in Sydney, led the dance faculty at the British Academy of Arts in Kuwait, and has adjudicated competitions from Singapore to Perth. That experience now lives in a purpose-built studio at 13 Altin St — three rooms, professional floors, and a team that genuinely cares what happens to every student who walks through the door.

What they say

In Their Own Words.

This studio makes sure the students are getting the same training and opportunities as city students. The balance of elite performing arts tuition and a warm family environment are met spectacularly. I can confidently say this studio is preparing dancers for work in the industry.

David Camm

Professional Dancer & Guest Teacher — Sydney

Never did I think I would be sent to the Joffrey Ballet School in NYC or dancing on the streets of Disneyland. Ms Shannon's background has allowed her to bring new life and opportunities to dancers in Griffith — opening doors to pathways and contacts, including training with dancers who have worked alongside some of the world's biggest touring acts.

Alex Kelly

Former Student — now working professionally

SDS provided me with a home away from home. Any sadness or frustration was left at the door due to how exciting and loving the environment at that studio is. Ms Shannon and her wonderful team always provided a safe space to be myself and show off my strengths.

Former Student — Professional Cheerleader, Cronulla Sharks
